West Branch Cross Country Competes at Dover Invitational

The High School WBXC teams took on the hilliest, most challenging terrain they will see all season in their 5K races (3.1 miles) at the Dover Invitational last Saturday! The coaches are extremely proud of each and every runner for his/her grit and determination!

For the boys, 

Finishing in the top 7% of 89 boys and earning a medal was junior Kyle Ormiston--6th place (18:31)

Finishing in the top 20% of 89 boys and earning a medal was freshman Logan Williams--16th place (19:50)

For the girls

Finishing in the top 15% of 54 girls and earning a medal was freshman Rachel Teague--8th place (23:29)

Finishing in the top 30% of 54 girls and earning a medal was freshman Kelly Ewing--16th place (25:22).

Finishing in the top 35% of 54 girls and earning her very first cross country medal was junior Sonja Sanor--19th place (25:27).

Although none of the runners set a lifetime PR (personal record) at Dover, every single WB runner who competed in the 5K race last year improved his/her time at the Dover course on average by 1:45!! 

The WBXC High School Boys and Girls are excited to travel to Boardman for the Spartan Invitational on Saturday, 9/13!

The WBXC Middle School Girls and Boys teams took on possibly the hilliest, most challenging terrain they will see all season in their 2-mile race at the Dover Invitational last Saturday! The coaches are extremely proud of each and every runner for his/her grit and determination! 

For the girls, 

Finishing in the top 6% of 81 girls and winning a medal for the MS Lady Warriors was 8th grader Tenley Stitle--5th place (13:44)!

Finishing in the top 10% of 81 girls and winning a medal was 8th grader Izzy Cantwell--7th place (14:10). With this time, Cantwell set a lifetime PR (personal record)! She also posted another career-high finish in terms of placing percentage!

Finishing in the top 20% of 81 girls and also winning a medal was 8th grader Ellie Bickle--14th place (14:51). With this time, Bickle tied her season PR!

Finishing in the top 30% of 81 girls were 7th grader Maggie Cosma--24th place (15:57) 7th grader Belle Jerles--25th place (16:02).

*With their times, both of these young ladies set lifetime PR's on the Dover hills!

For the boys,

Finishing in the top 20% of 112 boys was 7th grader Wyatt Turman--23rd place (13:49).

Finishing in the top 30% of 112 boys was 8th grader Matthew Edwards--32nd place (14:13). With this time, Edwards set a lifetime PR and posted a career-high finish in terms of placing percentage!

7th grader Liam Wilson (16:05) chimed in and ran his best race so far, setting a lifetime PR

As are their teammates, the WBXC MS Girls and Boys are excited to travel to Boardman for the Spartan Invitational on Saturday, 9/13!
