The West Branch Cross Country (WBXC) High School Boys and Girls competed in the District Tournament at GlenOak High School on Saturday, 10/18.
The WBXC HS Boys finished 5th of 12 teams. By being in the top 7, the boys advanced to the Regional Tournament as a TEAM! This great accomplishment has not happened for the boys since 2021!
Finishing in the top 8% of 92 boys was junior Kyle Ormiston--7th place (18:07)!
Finishing in the top 18% of 92 boys were freshman Logan Williams--15th place (18:42.61) and junior TJ Greenfield--16th place (18:42.97).
The remaining team members who ran at Districts were sophomore Jake Blinn (20:40), junior Bennett Biggs (21:21), senior John Biggs (21:32), and sophomore Aiden Scott (22:33). Sophomore Aidan Stuchell and freshman Carter Bandy served as alternates at the District meet.
While the WBXC HS Girls did not qualify for the Regional Tournament as a team, there were 5 individual runners who advanced to the next level!
Those runners included freshmen Kelly Ewing (23:45) and Rachel Teague (24:10), junior Sonja Sanor (24:16), and freshmen Grace Boyle (25:04), and Luna Woolf (27:55)!
The Regional meet will be held at Boardman High School on Saturday, 10/25. The girls race at 11:45 AM, followed by the boys at 12:30 PM.
