West Branch Cross Country Competes at EBC Championships

The WBXC High School Girls and Boys competed at the EBC Championships at Marlington High School last Saturday. To say that our competition is fierce is an understatement. We are proud to be in one of the toughest conferences in the state! This incredible competition pushed us to do our very best!

Finishing in the top 15% of 71 boys was junior Kyle Ormison--11th place (17:37)!

*With his 11th place finish, Ormiston made Second-Team All-EBC (runners finishing in 7th-12th place earn this honor). This is a tremendous accomplishment in our conference!

Finishing in the top 21% of 71 boys was  freshman Logan Williams--15th place (17:58)! With this time, Williams posted a lifetime PR (personal record)!

Finishing in the top 31% was junior TJ Greenfield--22nd place (18:36)!

Adding to the day's achievements were sophomore Jake Blinn (19:58) and freshman Carter Bandy (23:27), each of whom set a lifetime PR! Senior John Biggs (20:33) also had a great day on the course, setting a season PR!

For the WBXC HS Girls, freshmen Grace Boyle (23:59) and Luna Woolf (27:17) had excellent races, and as a result, set lifetime PR's

Junior Sonja Sanor (23:53) chimed in, too, with her best race of the season thus far!

Congratulations, all HS boys and girls

Both the WBXC High School Boys and Girls will compete next at the District Meet at GlenOak High School on Saturday, 10/18!

The WBXC Middle School Girls and Boys also competed at the EBC Championships at Marlington High School last Saturday. As with their high school counterparts, the competition in our conference is fierce. Again, this definitely pushed us to do our very best!

Finishing in the top 12% of 51 girls and earning a medal was 8th grader Tenley Stitle--6th place (13:16)!

Finishing in the top 25% of 51 girls was 8th grader Izzy Cantwell--13th place (13:53)!

Posting a lifetime PR at EBC was 8th grader Kennedy Fritz (15:53)!

On the boys' side,  finishing in the top 30% of 54 boys was 8th grader Jace Bowlin--16th place (12:42.7). With this time, Bowlin set a lifetime PR!

In an epic battle between teammates, crossing the line only .1 of a second behind Bowlin was 7th grader Wyatt Turman--17th place (12:42.8)! Turman also set a lifetime PR!

Adding to the excitement of the day, 7th graders Liam Wilson (14:52), Greyson Ewing (14:56), and Jax DeWitt (15:07) ALL set lifetime PR's! 8th grader Matthew Edwards (14:19) also ran a great race, posting a season PR!

Congratulations, all MS girls and boys, for a wonderful regular season!

The coaching staff is thrilled that ALL thirteen of our WBXC MS runners have chosen to compete in one final meet--the Middle School State Meet at Dublin-Jerome High School on Sunday, 10/19!
