The West Branch freshman boys basketball team was looking for a big win as their season was nearing its end, and they found it in a thrilling 42-41 victory over Carrollton.
Carrollton held a 35-31 lead heading into the final quarter, but the Warriors came alive in the fourth. Mason Cosma scored the game-winning bucket with less than 30 seconds remaining, giving West Branch their first lead of the game and securing the dramatic win.
Landon Coffee had a standout performance, leading the team with 15 points, while Mason Cosma finished with 10 points, including the game-winning shot. Austin Hawk also made a significant contribution, adding 10 points to the scoreboard.
West Branch improves to 3-9 and will look to build on this momentum when they host Salem at home on Thursday.
