Salem, OH -- Ellie Tucker threw a complete game and Carly Loper and Layla Carreon combined for six hits as West Branch softball defeated Salem 3-2 Thursday.
Tucker was dominant from the jump, going all seven innings while striking out seven and allowing just two unearned runs on four hits. She recorded all 21 outs and never let Salem get comfortable.
West Branch jumped on the board in the first on a Sara Schmidt RBI single and never trailed. The Warriors added two more in the third, the second coming on a Loper single that made it 3-1, and Tucker did the rest.
Loper and Carreon both went 3-for-4 hitting back-to-back in the lineup, powering an 11-hit West Branch offense. The Warriors also drew five walks on the day with Camryn Wike leading the way with two.
What's Next: West Branch Softball is right back at it tomorrow, traveling to Hubbard for a 5:00 p.m. matchup with the Eagles.
