North Canton, OH -- West Branch wasted no time setting the tone Friday night, jumping out to a big first inning and never looking back in a 9-4 win over Hoover on the road. The Warriors capitalized on early miscues, plating multiple runs in the opening frame before Camryn Wike delivered an RBI single to cap the rally. That fast start gave West Branch all the momentum they needed.
Ellie Tucker took it from there in the circle, grinding through a complete-game effort. The right-hander went all seven innings, allowing just five hits while striking out six to secure the win. At the plate, West Branch put together a solid night at the plate with 12 total hits. Wike led the way with two hits and three RBIs, while Zoe Metzger, Zoey Carreon, and Layla Carreon each added multi-hit performances.
Defensively, the Warriors were locked in, playing a clean game without committing an error for their second straight game.
What's Next: West Branch improves to 4-5 on the season and will look to get back to .500 Saturday at home against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 11 a.m.
