Beloit, OH -- The West Branch softball team dropped a 15-5 decision to Boardman on Thursday at West Branch. Boardman took an early lead in the opening inning before using a seven-run second inning to create separation.
Despite the early deficit, the Warriors continued to battle throughout the game and found production at the plate, finishing with six hits. Carly Loper, Camryn Wike, Elly Biskup, Sara Schmidt, Zoey Carreon, and Ellie Tucker each recorded a hit for West Branch.
The Warriors were able to push across five runs, with Loper, Schmidt, and Maylin Hartzell each driving in a run. In the circle, Tucker went the distance for West Branch, striking out four over six innings of work.
What's Next: West Branch will return to action on April 2, hosting Champion at 5 p.m. in a varsity-only contest.
