Beloit, OH -- The West Branch Lady Warriors came out strong on Senior Night, picking up an 11-7 win over the Salem on Thursday at West Branch High School.
Libbie Davis led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two singles to fuel the offense.
Davis singled in the first, added another hit in the second, and doubled in the third as West Branch built up momentum.
Salem jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first, scoring three runs after a sacrifice bunt by Lewis and a double from Blaine. However, West Branch quickly answered in the bottom half, tying the game at 3-3 thanks to a pair of singles, including an RBI base hit from Josie Milliken.
Salem went back on top in the second with a two-run single by Jones, but the Warriors responded with a huge six-run third inning. The offense came alive with four hits, including a two-run single from Zoe Metzger that helped flip the game in West Branch's favor.
Klary McKay earned the win for the Warriors, pitching five and a third innings and giving up six hits and six runs—three of them earned—while striking out seven. Ellie Tucker pitched in relief to finish the game. Salem's Blaine took the loss after giving up nine runs, only two of them earned.
West Branch tallied 11 hits on the night, with Metzger and Tucker each collecting multiple hits. Mati Hawk drew two walks and helped spark the offense. Davis and Hawk also swiped two bases apiece as the team finished with five steals.
On the Salem side, Jones knocked in two runs, and Kutsko went 3-for-4 to lead the Quakers in hits. Toy added two hits and joined Jones in stealing multiple bases, as Salem finished with six steals overall.
What's Next: West Branch softball will be back in action tomorrow at Carrollton, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM. Also, with the win, West Branch has officially clinched the 2025 EBC championship outright!
