Beloit, OH -- Zoey Carreon had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-4 to help lead the West Branch Lady Warriors to a 14-6 win over Alliance on Friday at home. Carreon picked up singles in the first, second, and sixth innings as West Branch put together an impressive offensive performance.
Alliance jumped ahead early, scoring three runs in the top of the first off a pair of hits, a groundout, and a dropped third strike, but the Lady Warriors quickly responded in the bottom half, exploding for seven runs on seven hits to take control. Ellie Tucker's RBI triple highlighted the inning and helped shift the momentum for good.
West Branch continued to build on the lead in the second, as Zoe Metzger delivered a sacrifice fly and Carreon followed with an RBI single. Addi Craven added another run in the third with a base hit, stretching the lead to 10-5.
Klary McKay earned the win in relief, allowing just two hits and one run over three innings, while striking out two. Tucker started the game in the circle, giving up five runs on seven hits across three innings. Alliance's Lilliana White took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits over three and a third innings.
The Lady Warriors racked up 17 hits as a team, led by Tucker, who went 4-for-5 at the top of the lineup. Metzger, Josie Milliken, Tucker, Carly Loper, and Carreon each drove in two runs. Davis and Craven also had multi-hit games, while Davis and Carreon added multiple stolen bases to help keep pressure on the defense. In total, West Branch swiped seven bags and turned one double play, playing error-free in the field. Milliken was solid defensively, leading the team with seven plays.
Alliance got strong offensive efforts from Tasia Hendershot and Alexa Brown, who both had two hits. Hendershot and Cheyanne Hendershot each drove in two runs, and the team worked five walks at the plate, with Alaina Minear and Lydia Clair drawing two each.
