Beloit, OH -- It came down to the wire Thursday night at West Branch, where the Lady Warriors pulled off a walk-off win, edging Minerva 4-3. Tied at three in the bottom of the seventh,
Mati Hawk came through with a clutch double to center, driving in the game-winning run.
Minerva struck first in the fourth with a solo homer to center from S. Cress, followed by a two-run double from D. Sell to take a 3-0 lead.
However, West Branch answered the call down 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh. Libbie Davis got things going with a single down the right field line, followed by a base hit to center from Ellie Tucker. Then, with two on, Hawk delivered the walk-off shot to seal the win.
Tucker picked up the win in the circle, giving up just two hits and no runs in one and two-thirds innings. Klary McKay also saw action in relief. G. Kasdan took the loss for Minerva, allowing four runs on seven hits over six and a third innings.
At the plate, Hawk led the Warriors with two hits. Davis, Hawk, Tucker, and Zoey Carreon each drove in a run.
For Minerva, Sell had a solid night, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. R. Weaver also tallied two hits.
What's Next: West Branch is back in action tomorrow at home against Alliance. The Game will start at 5 PM.
