Both the West Branch 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball teams aimed to close out their regular seasons on a high note with a tough non-conference matchup against Boardman.
The 8th grade team secured an exciting 45-40 victory over the Spartans. Three Warriors finished in double figures, with Michael McCartney leading the way with 12 points. Logan Hawk and Connor Martin each contributed 11 points, while Kollin Kaley had a solid all-around performance, managing the offense and adding 8 points. The 8th grade team will host either Salem or Carrollton tomorrow in the first round of the EBC tournament at Salem Southeast Elementary.

The West Branch 7th grade team lost a tight 43-37 non-conference game to Boardman. Drake Peterson and Austin Olinger led the way, scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively. Despite the loss, the 7th grade team earned the number one seed in the EBC tournament and will play on February 5th at Marlington Middle School.
