The Warrior baseball team fell to Salem 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors led 2-1 in the sixth inning, but Salem scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead. West Branch loaded the bases with one out in the seventh but a pop out and a strikeout ended the game. The Warriors are 5-11 on the season and 1-8 in the EBC.
West Branch was led by
Jeremiah Thomas who had two hits including a double and scored a run. Thomas also walked once and made an outstanding catch in centerfield in the third inning.Â
Drake Stryffeler and
Nick Scofinsky also singled.Â
Even Springer took the loss on the mound allowing five runs on four hits in five plus innings of work. Springer struck out four.Â
Carson Wike pitched one inning allowing zero hits and striking out one.
The two teams will meet again on Wednesday at West Branch High School.
