The Warriors and Orange Lions played a tight Division IV Sectional Final contest with the Warriors winning 1-0 on a Carter Thrasher walk off walk.  West Branch moves on to play Norton in a District Semifinal game on Tuesday, May 26th at 5 PM.

The Warriors and Lions were in a pitching battle from the start of the game as neither pitcher would give in.  West Branch's Jeremiah Thomas, making his last start on his home field, out dueled his opponent for the complete game victory.  Thomas pitched seven innings allowing just three hits while walking two and striking out eight.  

The Orange pitcher kept the Warriors at bay throughout the middle innings retiring 12 straight at one point.  In the seventh, Grady Close got things started with a bunt single to give the Warriors some life.  Carson Wike then followed with a bunt single of his own to put runners on first and second.  Nick Scofinsky then reached on another bunt single loading the bases with no outs for Thrasher.  On a 3-2 count, Trasher took ball four high allowing Close to score and giving the Warriors the victory.  

Next up:  The Warriors will host Boardman on Saturday in a regular season game at 12 PM.  West Branch will travel to Norton on Tuesday, May 26th for its next tournament contest.
