Carter Thrasher pitched six strong innings and the Warriors baseball team scored runs in five of seven innings to pull away from Ursuline 9-1 Wednesday afternoon at Cene Park in Struthers. The Warriors improve to 7-12 on the season.
Ursuline got on the board first scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning, but West Branch would strike back with four in the second and never look back. The Warriors scored one run in the third, fifth, sixth and added two more in teh seventh to pull away for the victory.
Thrasher picked up the win allowing just three hits and one unearned run in his six innings of work. He struck out four while walking three.
Chase Gee closed out the final frame on nine pitches including two strikeouts.
At the plate,
Carson Wike picked up two hits including a triple while
Carter Thrasher and
Nick Scofinsky doubled.
Jeremiah Thomas,
Drake Stryffeler,
Gavyn Webb, and
Evan Springer each singled for the Warriors.
Next up: West Branch will host Lakeview at 5 PM on Thursday.
