Drake Stryffeler hit an inside the park homerun to help lead the Warriors past visiting United on Saturday morning 5-3. The Warriors improve to 5-5 on the season while United drops to 8-3.
Gee allowed three runs (0 earned) on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Stryffeler pitched 2/3 innings of relief and
Jeremiah Thomas earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning.
Stryffler's four bagger came in the sixth inning after United had closed the gap to one run at 4-3. Stryffler drove the ball deep to center field and used his speed to come around the bases beating the relay throw to extend the Warriors lead to 5-3.
Offensively, the Warriors collected nine hits on the day. Thomas was 2-4 with a run scored while
Grady Close was 1-1 with a run scored and two walks.Â
Nick Scofinsky and
Carson Wike each had two hits for the winners. Wike had a double and an RBI.Â
Evan Springer finished his day with a single.
