The Warrior pitching staff allowed just two hits and struck out 12 Howland batters on its way to a 4-1 victory over the Tigers on Saturday afternoon at the West Branch baseball field. With the win the Warriors improve to 4-2 while the Tigers fall to 2-1.
Carter Thrasher got the start and went three innings striking out seven batters. Thrasher allowed one hit and one run and walked five.
Chase Gee picked up the win with three innings of work allowing just one hit and striking out four.
Gavyn Webb earned the save pitching a perfect seventh with a strikeout.
The Warriors once again scored early picking up two runs on a
Drake Stryffeler single in the first inning.
Jeremiah Thomas finished the day 4-4 with two runs scored. Thomas also stole two bases as the Warriors swiped five bags on the day. Webb had an RBI single along with
Nick Scofinsky.
Grady Close walked twice and scored two runs.
Next up: The Warriors will take on Marlington on Tuesday at the West Branch baseball field. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.
