Beau Nezbeth had an incredible run at the
Ohio High School Athletic Association Wrestling State Tournament, finishing as the Division II state runner-up at 150 pounds.
He opened the tournament with a 7–0 win to advance to the championship quarterfinals. On Friday, he battled to a 4–1 overtime victory to punch his ticket to the semifinals.
Saturday brought more success as he picked up an 11–1 major decision in the semifinals to earn a spot in the state championship match. In Sunday night's finals, he came up just short, falling 9–3 to Thomas Lindsay of Bishop Watterson High School to finish second in the state.
Beau ends the season with an outstanding 51–2 record. The senior was also a First Team Eastern Buckeye Conference selection and was named the conference's Player of the Year, finishing his high school career with well over 100 wins on the mat.
