The Lady Warrior Wrestling team finished in 7th place at the OHSAA Sectional Tournament on Sunday at Austintown Fitch High School.  Three Warriors earned a trip to the District tournament next week.  Grace Bates was the sectional champion while Abigail Janosik and Abigail Benner each took home second place finishes to qualify.  The top four from each weight class qualify to move on.

Bates finished the day a perfect 3-0 with three pins on the day.  She defeated opponents from Austintown Fitch, Mentor and Lakeside.  Janosik was 2-1 with wins over opponents from Edgewood and Girard both by pin.  Benner also finished 2-1 with wins over Brookfield and Lake each by pin.

Next week the girls will travel to Mentor High School on Sunday, March 8th for the OHSAA District Tournament.  The top four from each weight class will earn a trip to the State Tournament in Columbus the weekend of March 13-15th.
