Austintown, OH -- After two tough days of competition in Austintown at the EOWL
League Wrestling Tournament, the West Branch Warriors battled their way to a 9th-place overall team finish.
West Branch was led by a pair of champions, as Beau Nezbeth and Gavin Hang each captured individual titles. Nezbeth delivered one of the highlights of the tournament by defeating the No. 2 ranked wrestler in the state in the finals to claim his championship. Hang was dominant in his title match as well, securing the championship with a pin in the finals.
The Warriors also had several other wrestlers earn podium finishes. Carter Day placed 8th, Justin Marra finished 6th, and Jackson Shinn earned a 5th-place finish, adding valuable points to the team total.
With multiple wrestlers reaching the podium and two champions leading the way, the Warriors put together a strong showing against a deep and competitive field.
