The Warrior baseball team dropped to 9-17 on the season falling 1-0 in a pitchers dual at Boardman on Monday afternoon.
The Spartans scored a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and that was all they would need to secure the win.Â
Evan Springer was the tough luck loser pitching a complete game allowing just four hits and the one earned run. Springer walked one and struck out one.
The Warriors biggest threat came in the top of the first. After singles by
Anthony Perry and
Charlie Biskup, Biskup stole second to set up the Warriors with runners at second and third with one out. An infield pop up and a ground out ended the scoring threat.Â
Jeremiah Thomas finished the day with two singles while Perry was also hit by a pitch.
West Branch will conclude its regular season on Tuesday at home against United. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.
