The Warriors fell to Cardinal Mooney on Monday 11-5 at West Branch High School. The two teams battled in the early going with each team scoring runs in each of the first three innings, but the Cardinals were able to plate six runs in the fifth to pull away for the victory. The Warriors drop to 5-9 on the season while Mooney is 10-4.
West Branch collected seven hits on the day and walked five times.
Charlie Biskup and
Maddox Coleman each had two hits while
Carson Wike had a two out double in the third inning that tied the game up at five.
Boston Mulinix and
Anthony Perry each singled while
Grady Close was on base three times via walk.
On the mound,
Jeremiah Thomas took the loss pitching 4.1 innings allowing eight hits and eight runs (five earned) striking out two.
Carson Wike pitched one inning allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits while
Carter Thrasher pitched 1.2 scoreless innings striking out two.
The Warriors will travel to Carrollton on Tuesday for an EBC tilt at 5 PM.
