Boardman, OH -- The WBXC High School Boys and Girls battled the most crowded field they have seen this season during the mentally taxing, looping
5K (3.1-mile) course at the Spartan Invitational last Saturday!
Leading the way for the boys, finishing in the top 26% or higher of a massive 387 boys, were
senior Colton Cantwell--46th place (18:04)
sophomore Logan Williams--68th place (18:30)!*Season PR
senior TJ Greenfield--69th place (18:31)*Season PR
junior Jake Blinn--101st place (19:09)
Senior Bennett Biggs (20:00) had an excellent race, posting a lifetime PR by 28 seconds! Freshman Jace Bowlin (21:26) also had a great race, dropping 7 seconds from his lifetime PR!
Juniors Aidan Stuchell (22:13) and Brock Weisel (23:31) also ran their personal bests by 7 seconds and 2 seconds, respectively!
Despite missing some runners, the WBXC HS Boys had a super day as a team--finishing 13th of 34 Division 3 schools.

freshman Kennedy Fritz (25:06) had a stellar race, improving her lifetime PR by an impressive 1:14! Junior Carter Fritz (25:09) and sophomore Luna Woolf (25:28) knocked huge amounts of time off their personal bests also--51 and 44 seconds, respectively!
sophomore Grace Boyle (25:10) chimed in with a season PR!
Just like the WBXC HS Boys, the WBXC HS Girls had a solid day as a team, despite missing some runners. They finished 13th of 25 Division 3 schools.

The WBXC HS teams are excited to travel to Malone University on Saturday, 9/26 for the Malone Invitational, which is a team-favorite, as it is a night meet! The HS teams will then head to the Mahoning County Championships at Austintown Township Park on Wednesday, 9/30.
Like their high school counterparts, the WBXC Middle School Boys and Girls battled the most crowded field they have seen this season during the mentally taxing, looping 2-mile course at the Spartan Invitational last Saturday! They set an impressive number of lifetime PR's and earned several prizes!
Leading the way for the boys, finishing in the top 9% of 150 boys, was
7th grader Sawyer Vavrock--14th place (12:27)*prizewinner.
8th graders Liam Wilson (13:47) and Jax DeWitt (14:19) each raced very well, beating their lifetime PR's by 4 seconds and 30 seconds, respectively.
7th grader Zen Woolf (14:50) chopped 10 seconds off his previous personal best, while 8th grader Case Black (15:25) dropped a hefty 56 seconds off his!
8th grader Wyatt Turman (13:46) chipped in a nice race on the day, setting a season PR.
The WBXC MS Boys had a great day as a team, finishing 7th of 16 Division 3 schools.

7th grader Kenzie Turman (16:47), 8th grader Natalie Fraser (17:44), and 7th grader Brielle Spencer (18:49), each shaved time off their lifetime PR's, cutting 5 seconds, 30 seconds, and 2 seconds, respectively!
8th grader Belle Jerles (15:38) showed remarkable improvement at Spartan, posting a season PR!
The WBXC MS Girls also had a solid day as a team, finishing 6th of 12 Division 3 schools.
