The WBXC Boys had a tremendous day on the course with nearly all veteran runners beating their previous times at the Bird, dropping 10:27 total! 

All of our WB top-5 runners finished in the top 25% of 146 boys! 

Leading the way for the boys were

senior Colton Cantwell--20th place (18:35)*lifetime PR by 45 seconds

senior TJ Greenfield--25th place (18:46)

sophomore Logan Williams--28th place (18:55)

junior Jake Blinn--32nd place (19:05)*lifetime PR by 53 seconds

senior Kyle Ormiston--34th place (19:15).

junior Sevin Woods also chipped in a terrific performance in his first-ever grass 5K, finishing in the top 27% at 40th place (19:28)!

Congratulations to all the WBXC HS Boys, as they placed 3rd out of 13 teams! This is our highest finish at the Bird since 2021 when the team finished 3rd of 11 teams!
 

Leading the way for the Lady Warriors,

finishing in the top 15% of 109 girls in their very first 5K races were

freshman Tenley Stitle--9th place (21:52)*medal-winner

freshman Ellie Bickle--15th place (22:54).

Also, sophomore Luna Woolf (26:30) had a stellar race out of the gate, beating her lifetime PR (personal record) by 18 seconds!

Overall, both teams had an excellent start to the season--in their running AND in supporting/guiding the middle school teams who were also at the Salem Early Bird. Congratulations, all WBXC HS runners!

The WBXC MS Boys and Girls kicked off their season alongside their HS counterparts at the Salem Early Bird last Saturday running their 2-mile race. 

For the WBXC MS Boys,

finishing in the top 3% of 114 boys was

7th grader Sawyer Vavrock--3rd place (12:27)*medal winner!

Also, 8th graders Liam Wilson (13:51) and Jax DeWitt (14:49) each had a terrific first race of the season, beating their lifetime PR's (personal records) by 45 seconds and 18 seconds, respectively! 
 

For the WBXC MS Girls, 

finishing in the top 18% of 108 girls were

8th grader Stella Whiteleather--17th place (14:18), in her very first XC race

8th grader Violet Benner--19th place (14:25)*lifetime PR by a whopping 1:12!

7th grader Raina Brown also had a great performance, finishing in the top 30% at 32nd place (15:28)!

Overall, the MS Girls and Boys teams had an excellent start to their seasons--in their running AND in supporting the high school teams who were also at the Salem Early Bird! Congratulations, all WBXC MS runners!
