Alliance, OH -- The WBXC High School Boys and Girls had one heck of a day crushing their personal best times at the Ashley White Invitational this past Saturday!
Leading the way for the boys, finishing in the top 12% and 16%, respectively, of 100 boys, were
senior Colton Cantwell--12th place (17:56)*medal-winner; lifetime PR (personal record) by 39 seconds
senior Kyle Ormiston--16th place (18:05)*medal winner; season PR
The personal improvement didn't end there! Also setting lifetime PR's were juniors Jake Blinn (19:02, by 3 seconds), Sevin Woods (19:04, by 24 seconds), Aiden Scott (20:54, by 47 seconds), and Brock Weisel (23:33, by 38 seconds).
Freshman Jace Bowlin (21:33) improved his best time by an exciting 1:01!
Sophomore Logan Williams (18:35), senior Bennett Biggs (20:38), and junior Aidan Stuchell (22:40) each set season PR's!
Congratulations to all the WBXC HS Boys, as they placed 4th out of 12 teams in the small school division!

The WBXC HS Girls also showed a lot of improvement at the Ashley White Invitational!
Leading the way for the girls, finishing in the top 8% and 24% of 90 girls, respectively, were
freshman Tenley Stitle--7th place (20:37)*medal-winner; lifetime PR by an impressive 1:15!
freshman Ellie Bickle--22nd place (22:53)*lifetime PR by 0:01!
Also setting lifetime PR's were junior Carter Fritz (26:00, by 20 seconds) and sophomore Luna Woolf (26:12, by 18 seconds). Freshman Kennedy Fritz (26:20) chimed in, dropping a whopping 2:13 off her previous lifetime best!
Sophomores Kelly Ewing (23:30) and Grace Boyle (26:09) each showed improvement, setting season PR's!
The team managed to finish 5th of 10 small school squads, even being short-staffed due to a couple of injuries. Congratulations, all WBXC HS Girls!

It was a challenging day for the WBXC Middle School teams this past Saturday at the Ashley White Invitational! There were teams from several big schools and the competition for the 2-mile race was tough!
On the boys' side,
finishing in the top 10% of 245 boys was
7th grader Sawyer Vavrock--25th place (12:46)!
MS Boys competing in XC this season include: (front) Wyatt Turman; (back, left to right) Case Black, Liam Wilson, Jax DeWitt, Zen Woolf, Sawyer Vavrock, and Kason Coffee.
For the girls,
finishing in the top 19% and 21% of 161 girls were
8th grader Violet Benner--30th place (15:14) and
7th grader Raina Brown--34th place (15:31).
Setting lifetime PR's were 8th graders Natalie Fraser (18:14) who dropped 28 seconds and Alea Cabangunay (25:06) who beat her previous best by 52 seconds!
8th grader Belle Jerles (16:12) set a season PR!
As are their HS teammates, the WBXC Middle School runners are excited to race at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday, 9/19! Congratulations, all MS boys and girls!
