The JV baseball team defeated Minerva tonight 7-4 to move to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in the EBC.
The Lions took a quick 2-0 lead, but West Branch scored six runs in the second inning and never looked back.
Austin Close got the win on the mound going the distance. Close allowed four runs (two earned) on ten hits striking out 11 and walking just one.
At the played the Warriors had ten hits including a 4-4 day by Jake Hardy. Hardy knocked in a run and scored a run. Truss Milliken, Justin Dickey, Jackson Benner, John Bardo, Carter Day, and Conner Blile each singled for the winners.
Next up: West Branch will head to Howland Township Park on Saturday to take on the Howland Tigers. Game time is 12 PM.
