The JV Warrior baseball team picked up its first win of the 2026 campaign defeating Minerva on the road 6-3. The Warriors are now 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in the EBC.
West Branch trailed 3-0 heading into the top of the sixth inning when the Warriors scored four runs to take the lead. In the 7th West Branch tacked on two more insurance runs and held off Minerva in the bottom of the frame for the win.
Logan Dowd earned the victory pitching four innings of relief. Dowd allowed one run on three hits while striking out four and walking two. Jake Hardy started and pitched three innings allowing two runs on three hits. Hardy struck out six and walked five.
At the plate the Warriors collected seven hits. Dowd helped his own cause with two hits including a double and two RBI. Brock Francis also doubled and knocked in two runs. John Bardo added a double while Jackson Benner, Justin Dickey, and Hardy each singled.
The two teams will meet again on Thursday at West Branch High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.
