The Warrior JV baseball team battled the Austintown Fitch Falcons on Thursday night coming just short falling 2-1 in a five inning game under the lights in Austintown.  The game, originally scheduled to be played at West Branch, was moved to Austintown due to the Falcons artificial surface and lights.  The Warriors are now 0-2 on the young season.

Austin Close went the distance on the mound and was outstanding.  The sophomore allowed just one hit while striking out six and walking two.  Close was the tough luck loser allowing two runs (one earned) on the day.

At the plate Bryce Parker and Close each singled along with Justin Dickey.

West Branch will be off for the holiday and will return to action on Tuesday at home against Minerva.
