Virginia Beach, VA -- Six members of the indoor track club will travel to Virginia Beach this weekend after qualifying for the Adidas Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet.
Athletes must meet specific performance standards during the indoor season to qualify for the national meet.
The boys 4x200-meter relay team of Johnny Edwards, Colton Cantwell, Noah Dean, and Aiden Handy will compete at 7:00 p.m. Friday after qualifying with a time of 1:34.02 at the OATCCC Indoor State Meet.
In the field events, Jax Rockwell will compete in the high jump at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, having cleared 6 feet, 1 inch at the Mount Union HS Meet #1. Gavin Clay will compete in the shot put at 4:00 p.m. Saturday after qualifying with a throw of 46 feet, 11 inches at the Salem Centerplex Throws Meet.
