The varsity basketball team fell to 13-8 on the season as they dropped a tight game to Austintown Fitch Wednesday night 46-42.
The Warriors throughout the first three quarters, but Fitch wouldn't let the lead get to big and chipped away down the stretch to take the lead at 42-40 with 2:50 to go. West Branch was unable to tie the game and Fitch was able to make four straight free throws late for the win.
Leading the Warriors was
Kasen Weaver with 11 points.
Jeremiah Thomas added nine points along with
Gavin Gregory.
Chase Gee finished his night with eight points including two threes, one of which was a buzzer beater at the end of the first quarter from beyond half court.
West Branch will travel to South Range on Saturday for its final game of the regular season. JV's tip at 5:30 followed by the varsity.
