Beloit, OH — The West Branch girls basketball team will begin postseason play Thursday night as the Lady Warriors host No. 34 seed Akron East in a Division IV sectional final contest at 7 p.m.
West Branch enters the tournament with a 19–3 overall record and earned the No. 4 overall seed in the Division IV bracket. The Lady Warriors are also the top seed in the Northeast 2 Sectional/District, securing home court advantage to begin postseason play. The Warriors closed the regular season with a dominant 52–11 victory over Girard and will look to carry that momentum into tournament action. No. 9 seed Streetsboro enters tournament play with a 15–7 record, while No. 10 seed Cloverleaf brings a strong 17–4 mark into the postseason. Both programs have put together solid regular seasons and could present potential matchups as the bracket advances.
The West Branch Lady Warriors are looking to capture their first district title since the 2021–22 season and make their first trip to the state final four since the 2019–20 season, when their postseason run was cut short due to COVID-19.
