The West Branch Warriors (6-1, 3-0 EBC) hit the road Friday night for a Week 8 Eastern Buckeye Conference matchup with the Minerva Lions (3-4, 0-3 EBC) at Hines Stadium.

West Branch got back on track last week, rolling past Carrollton 31-7 on the road. Minerva is coming off a 45-6 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

Recent history, though, has belonged to the Warriors. Since Minerva last beat West Branch in 2019, the Warriors have outscored the Lions by a combined 373-26.

Last Season's Meeting

• West Branch won 56-6

QUICK HITTERS
The West Branch defense has been suffocating... opponents are averaging just 7.4 points and 181 yards a game... 13 different Warriors have recorded a tackle for loss, combining for 36 on the season, and eight have registered a sack... Grady Hirst doesn't just run the offense, adding 19 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble on the other side of the ball... JJ Marra has been all over the field with 40 tackles and three for loss... Jeremy Ramsey leads the team with three interceptions and has broken up four more passes... opponents are completing just 56 percent of their throws, and nine have ended up in Warrior hands.....it all adds up to a tall task for a Minerva offense still searching for its first conference win, and with a West Branch defense that has given up just two rushing touchdowns all season, yards and points figure to be hard to come by for the Lions on Friday night.
