Two (8-1) rivals will meet Friday night at Clinton Heacock Stadium in Beloit, where West Branch hosts Salem with the Totem-Bell Traveling Trophy on the line. The Warriors have won six straight meetings in the series and haven't lost to the Quakers since 2019.

Tomorrow night is also Senior Night! Before the game, we will honor our seniors from the band, flagline, colorguard, cheer and mascots, as well as our football players.

West Branch blanked Alliance 29-0 last week to claim the Helmet, officially known as the Gary Andreani Loyalty Award. Salem enters on a winning note as well after a 28-14 victory over Carrollton. The Warriors have already clinched at least a share of the Eastern Buckeye Conference championship, their seventh straight league title, and can win it outright with a victory over the Quakers.

Last Season's Meeting / All Time Series Record

• West Branch won 27-13
• West Branch leads 32-22

QUICK HITTERS
West Branch has already locked up at least a share of the Eastern Buckeye Conference title, and a win Friday would make it outright and extend the Warriors' run of league championships to seven straight ... the Warriors have also owned this rivalry lately, winning six in a row over Salem since the Quakers' last victory in 2019 ... the defense set the tone in last week's 29-0 shutout of Alliance, swarming to the ball all night as Owen Bloss led the way with 13 tackles and Drake Stryffeler added 12, including 10 solo stops ... JJ Marra was a constant presence in the backfield with 11 tackles, three for loss, a sack and a pass breakup, while Damon Edwards chipped in eight tackles, three for loss and two sacks as West Branch finished with 10 tackles for loss as a unit ... that performance was nothing new for a group that is holding opponents to just 6.6 points and 172 yards per game, has surrendered only two rushing touchdowns all season and has picked off 10 passes ...

On the other side of the ball, Grady Hirst continues to do a little bit of everything, accounting for 33 touchdowns with 864 yards on the ground and 1,714 through the air ... Salem brings an offense averaging 32.4 points per game, though the Quakers have been held to 21 per game over their last two, including just 14 in their lone loss to Howland ... expect Salem to throw plenty of different looks at the Warrior defense, making discipline the key to stopping the Quaker offensive attack... the winner takes home the Totem-Bell Traveling Trophy.
