Boys basketball played a complete game from start to finish to defeat the Carrollton Warriors 54-40 on Friday night in front of a big crowd at the West Branch Fieldhouse. The win evens West Branch's record at 5-5 and keep the Warriors perfect in the EBC at 4-0.
West Branch used stingy first half defense to limit Carrollton opportunities building a 27-12 halftime lead. Carrollton worked to chip away in the second half narrowing the lead to six points midway through the fourth, but clutch shots late helped West Branch pull away down the stretch for the victory.
Jeremiah Thomas led all scorers with 15 points including eight from the line and a triple.
Kasen Weaver had 11 first half points to help build the big lead on his way to a 13 point night.
Grady Hirst added 10 points while
Landon Coffee had eight points to go along with a number of rebounds and solid defensive play.
West Branch will close out the first round of EBC play on Tuesday as the Warriors travel to Salem to take on the Quakers.
