Newton Falls, OH -- On Saturday, the West Branch Girls finished 3rd at the 2025 Newton Falls Tiger Invitational, while the boys took 8th place.
Girls Team Highlights
Clarice Martin led the Warriors with standout performances in distance events, capturing 1st place in the 3200 Meter Run (12:31.86) and 2nd place in the 1600 Meter Run (5:56.49).
In the hurdles, Alli Kanagy (17.44) and Sophia Dorris (17.95 PR) showed team depth with 4th and 5th place finishes respectively in the 100 Meter Hurdles. Hailie Singer contributed a solid 4th place finish in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 13.83.
The field events saw strong performances as well, with Indonika Woods throwing 31' 4.5" in Shot Put to secure 3rd place. Woods nearly won the event on her final throw, which would have been the winning distance but was ruled a foul. In the High Jump, Tallie Muniz cleared 4' 6" to tie for 4th place.
Boys Team Highlights
The boys 4x100 Meter Relay team posted the team's highest finish of the day, taking 4th place with a time of 46.74. The speedy quartet consisted of Johnny Edwards (1st leg), Zach Coffee (2nd leg), Noah Dean (3rd leg), and Aiden Handy (anchor).
Kyle Ormiston had a strong day in distance events, running a personal best 5:04.33 in the 1600 Meter Run and 11:18.23 in the 3200 Meter Run, both good for 5th place finishes. Luke Fye added another 5th place finish in the 110 Meter Hurdles (17.40).
In throwing events, Gavin Clay set a new personal record of 40' 4.5" on his fifth attempt in Shot Put to finish 7th, edging teammate Tyler Sprowl who also posted a PR of 38' 8.5" for 8th place. Adrian Hairston led the jumpers with a 15' 4" mark in Long Jump, placing 19th in a competitive field.
