JV Green Baseball Defeats Columbiana 15-1

The Warriors JV Green Baseball team scored early and often at Columbiana on Friday afternoon in a 15-1 defeat of the Clippers at Firestone Park.  The Green squad improves to 4-3 on the season.

West Branch exploded for five runs in the first inning and scored runs in every inning that followed including another five spot in the fifth.  The Warriors collected ten hits on the day.  Grayden Grimm, Justin Dickey, Bryce Parker, and Austin Close each had two hits.  Dickey had a double and Grimm tripled.  Grimm also knocked in four runs and scored two of his own.  Carther Thrasher was on base each plate appearance and score four runs.  Thrasher had a hit, was walked twice, and was hit by a pitch.

Brady Kerns went the distance on the mound allowing six hits and one run in five innings of work.  He finished his day with eight strikeouts and three walks.

Next Up:  The Warriors will travel to Northwest on Saturday for a noon start against the Indians.
