An eight run sixth inning spelled doom for the JV Warriors as they dropped a 19-12 contest at Minerva on Thursday afternoon. The Warriors are now 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in the EBC.
West Branch trailed by as many as six early, but battled back to tie the game two different times in the late innings, but the big sixth inning proved to be two much for the team.
Offensively, the Warriors collected 13 hits including two each by Austin Close, Carter Thrasher, Grayden Grimm, and Jackson Benner. Thrasher and Grimm each doubled on the day along with Justin Dickey who added six RBI for West Branch. John Biggs, Bryce Parker, Connor Loper, and Chase Stillion each singled.
West Branch will travel to Columbiana on Friday to take on the Clippers at Firestone Park at 2 PM following the varsity game.
