The JV Green baseball team came up short in its EBC opener falling to Minerva 12-5 in 8 innings on Wednesday afternoon.
Trailing 5-2 in the seventh inning, the Warriors scored three runs in the teams last at bat to send it into extras, but the Lions exploded for seven runs in the 8th to earn the victory.
Chase Gee took the loss pitching 7.1 innings scattering six hits while striking out eight.
At the plate the Warriors collected seven hits. Grayden Grimm and Gee each had two hits while Chase Stillion, Michael Pence, and Colton Stillion singled.
The Warriors will travel to Minerva on Thursday.
