The middle school wrestling team traveled to Carrollton Saturday for the EBC Middle School Tournament and came away with a team championship, the first EBC title for the middle school wrestlers since 2021. The Warriors started off strong, with 12 wrestlers making it to the finals. In the finals matches, the team was led by
Carter Day and
Mahlon Fritz winning major decisions, followed by
Brady Colian earning a tech fall. The team then rattled off three pins in a row, from
Garon Grimm,
Russell Santee and
Shawn Coker.
Kase Stryffeler,
John Bates,
Liam Thompson,
Cameron Mason,
Logan Dowd and
Jayden Tedrow all finished as runner-up.
With this victory, the boys wrap up a successful season. The next event will be the middle school girl wrestlers travelling back to Carrollton for the Carrollton Girls Invitational on February 15th. Wrestling starts at 10 AM.
