Coming off only its second defeat of the season, the Lady Warriors used a complete team effort to defeat a tough New Philadelphia team 50-32 Monday night at the West Branch Fieldhouse. With the win the Warriors improve to 17-2 on the season.
The Warriors jumped out to a 27-12 halftime lead thanks in large part to stout defense that led to turnovers and easy buckets. The Quakers battled back in the third quarter outscoring West Branch 16-13, but the Warriors used ball movement to create opportunities late in the game, expanding its lead and taking the victory.
Eight different Warriors found the score sheet tonight with
Audrey Eaton leading the way with nine points.
Tallie Muniz and
Ellie Tucker each had eight points, while
Alli Kanagy added seven for the Warriors.
Hallie Vie Burton had six points for the winners while both
Mati Hawk and
Carter Shepherd chipped in five.
Next up for West Branch will be a home matchup with the Warren JFK Eagles on Wednesday. The game will be a varsity only contest starting at 6:30 PM.
