In a tense, physical game, the Lady Warriors found a way in the fourth quarter outscoring visiting Howland 10-2 in the final frame on its way to a 39-32 victory. With the win the Warriors finish the regular season at 20-2. Before the game the Warriors celebrated its three seniors for their outstanding careers.
Presley Egli,
Mati Hawk, and
Carter Shepherd were all recognized in a ceremony highlighting their accomplishments.
In a game that was back in fourth throughout, Howland was able to build a five point lead in the third quarter and was looking to pull away. A big three point basket at the buzzer by
Mati Hawk cut the Tiger lead to just one heading into the fourth quarter. After a quick Howland bucket building the lead back up to three with just over seven minutes to play, the Tigers would not score again, as the Warriors closed out the game on a 10-0 run. The key to the victory was the ball movement late in the game, and despite only shooting 5-16 from the free throw line, the Warriors continued to get offensive rebounds off missed free throws late, not allowing Howland with a chance to get back into the game.
Leading the way for the Green and White was
Audrey Eaton who finished with ten points including two threes. Hawk scored nine points all from beyond the arc while
Hallie Vie Burton finished with nine hard earned points from the paint.
Carter Shepherd made two early threes for six points.
Ellie Tucker finished with three points and
Alli Kanagy knocked down a basket to go along with relentless defense including taking a hard charge in the third quarter that seemed to ignite the Warrior offense.
