The West Branch Middle School wrestling team competed in the West Branch Duals on Saturday, December 13th. The Warriors started strong, defeating Southeast 47-41, Austintown Red 58-35 and South Range 84-3. In the fourth round, the Warriors lost a tough match to Girard, 39-46. The team rebounded in the final match, defeating Howland 60-36, finishing the day with a record of 4-1. Girard finished as the team champion with a record of 5-0.

Leading the team in wins today was John Bates, who posted an undefeated 5-0 record, with all wins coming by pin. Also finishing the day undefeated were Jackson Raga and Cora Hahlen. Wrestlers with multiple wins by pin included Cael Miller, Maverik Martig, Jackson Adelman and Garrett Turman.

The Warriors will return to action next Saturday at home as they host Tusky Valley and Fairless.
