The boys basketball team moved to 1-2 and 1-0 in the EBC with a 56-50 victory at Minerva on Friday night. The Warriors held a 27-18 lead at the half but the Lions were able to trim the lead to one at the end of three thanks in large part to hitting five three pointers in the third period. West Branch, however, pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Lions 18-13 in the final quarter for the six point victory.
Jeremiah Thomas led all scorers with 23 points. Thomas also had four rebounds and three assists.Â
Gavin Gregory finished with a double-double scoring 11 points and adding 12 rebounds for the winners.Â
Kasen Weaver hit two three's as part of his ten point night. Weaver,
Zach Coffee, and
Grady Hirst each had five rebounds for the Warriors who out rebounded Minerva 34-17.
Next up: The Warriors return home Friday, December 12th to face Marlington. Tip off is scheduled for 6:45 PM.
