The Warrior basketball team took the Louisville Leopards to the wire but eventually Louisville was too much as West Branch fell 44-37. West Branch is now 0-2 on the season.
After a tight first quarter the Warriors used a strong defensive second half and some timely shooting to take a 21-10 lead into the break. Louisville managed to chip away in the third quarter cutting the lead to two and took over down the stretch for the victory.
Leading the Warriors with 10 points was
Gavin Gregory. Gregory also led the team with ten rebounds on the day.
Kasen Weaver had seven points for West Branch and four rebounds while
Landon Coffee scored six points with seven boards.
Up next: West Branch will open EBC play with a road trip to Minerva. Tip off is scheduled for 6:45 PM.
