The Warrior basketball team continued its strong defensive play Friday night limiting the Marlington Dukes to single digits in each quarter on its way to a 54-26 victory over the Dukes. The Warriors improve to 2-2 on the season and 2-0 in the EBC.
After a 9-9 first quarter, the Warriors pulled away before half, outscoring the Dukes 15-3 in the second quarter doubling up Marlington at the break. West Branch continued its strong play on both ends of the court in the third putting the game out of reach.
A number of players contributed on the offensive end in the victory led by
Jeremiah Thomas who had 11 points.
Kasen Weaver had a big night behind the arc, hitting three triples for nine points.
Chase Gee added nine points while
Gavin Gregory and
Grady Hirst each had eight points. Weaver led the defense with five steals while Thomas added three.
Landon Coffee led the Warriors on the boards with six rebounds while Hirst grabbed five.
Next up: The Warriors will travel to Boardman on Tuesday for a 7 PM tip off.
