The varsity boys basketball team opened its season Friday night at a very tough Akron Garfield on Friday night falling 49-40. The Warriors played a strong second quarter, outscoring the rams 13-7 in the frame to take a 25-21 lead into the half, but Garfield had too much in the second half pulling away for the victory. The Warriors are 0-1 on the season.
Leading the Warriors on the scoreboard was
Jeremiah Thomas with 10 points including one three pointer.
Kasen Weaver knocked down nine points along with two assists while
Gavin Gregory scored eight points and grabbed a game high 13 rebounds.
Chase Gee added six points points on two 3's, while
Landon Coffee had five points and seven rebounds.
Up Next: West Branch will host defending state champion Louisville on Tuesday, December 2nd. Tip off is scheduled for 6:45 PM following the JV game.
