Alliance, OH - After dropping back-to-back games to close out 2024, the West Branch boys basketball team was looking for a fresh start in 2025 as they made the short trip to Alliance to face the Aviators. The Warriors led at halftime, but second-half struggles plagued them, and they ultimately fell 52-43 to Alliance.
With Gavin Gregory sidelined, the West Branch Warriors aimed to keep the game low-scoring, and they succeeded in the first half, holding Alliance to just 26 points. Cooper Anderson had a strong first half, scoring all of his 11 points in the opening two quarters, while Camden Lane matched that effort, putting up all of his 7 points before halftime.
However, the momentum shifted after the break. The Aviators locked down defensively, limiting West Branch to just four points in the third quarter. The Warriors couldn't get anything going offensively, while Alliance's Jr. Jackson proved tough to stop, showcasing why he's one of the top guards in the EBC.
While West Branch outscored Alliance 9-8 in the fourth quarter, the third-quarter struggles were too much to overcome, and the Warriors fell 52-43.
