After a four game road trip, the Lady Warriors basketball team return to the West Branch Fieldhouse Saturday with a convincing 43-29 victory over Ursuline. The Warriors improve to 14-1 on the season.
Both teams struggled from the field early, but West Branch used a big second quarter run to take control of the game. The Warriors led 21-14 at the half. In the third quarter West Branch continued to build on its lead outscoring the Irish 12-6 in the frame pushing its lead to 33-20. The two teams played mostly even in the fourth helping West Branch cap off its eight victory in a row.
Again, West Branch got contributions from a number of players. This time eight different Warriors found the scoresheet led by
Tallie Muniz with 14 points.
Carter Shepherd added six points while
Mati Hawk,
Presley Egli,
Hallie Vie Burton, and
Audrey Eaton each scored four points.
Ellie Tucker and
Alli Kanagy rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.
West Branch will next head to Carrollton for a keep EBC matchup on Wednesday. Carrollton currently sits one game behind West Branch for the EBC title. A win over the Carroll County Warriors will give West Branch the outright EBC championship. Tip off for the JV's is 5:30 with the varsity to follow.
