The Lady Warriors improved to 12-1 on the season with a 40-29 victory at Boardman on Monday night. After a close first quarter, the Lady Warriors outscored the Spartans 15-2 in the second period to take a 26-11 advantage into the half.
The big lead was needed as the Spartans clawed back cutting the deficit to 34-26 after three quarters, but West Branch made smart decision on the offensive end and played stellar defense to close out the game for the win.
Offensively, a number of Warriors contributed.
Audrey Eaton led the way with 10 points and
Ellie Tucker added eight.
Mati Hawk knocked down six points including the Warriors lone three of the night.
Carter Shepherd also added six while
Tallie Muniz and
Hallie Vie Burton score four each.
Presley Egli finished the night with two points along with strong defense.
Alli Kanagy frustrated Boardman players all night with her defense not giving the Spartan players any room on the offensive end.
The Warriors will look to build on its EBC lead on Wednesday at Alliance. The game will be varsity only and will tip off at 7 PM.
