Lane and Thomas Combine for 43, But Warriors Fall Short Against Louisville

After securing a home win over Salem the night before, the West Branch varsity basketball team faced a tough challenge in Louisville, taking on an old NBC rival. While strong defense helped the Warriors earn their win over Salem, Louisville's potent offense proved too much to handle, as the Leopards powered their way to a 79-56 victory.

The first quarter was a tough one for the Warriors, as they managed just 6 points. However, Camden Lane caught fire in the second quarter, hitting four three-pointers to score 12 of his team's 16 points. Despite the offensive spark, the Warriors trailed 41-22 at halftime. Still, they felt they were beginning to find their rhythm offensively.

Louisville shut down Lane in the third quarter, but Jeremiah Thomas stepped up, scoring 9 points. Unfortunately, the duo of Siegfried and Aljancic for Louisville proved difficult to contain, combining for 50 of the team's 79 points.

Lane continued to fight back in the fourth, hitting two more three-pointers and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Together, Lane and Thomas scored 43 of the Warriors 56 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome Louisville's firepower.
