The Lady Warriors improved to 6-0 and 4-0 on the season with a 34-24 win in a physical defensive performance tonight in Salem.
Points came at a premium as neither team found the scoreboard until
Hallie Vie Burton scored three minutes into the game. The first quarter would end with the Warriors leading the Quakers 7-4.
A big three by
Alli Kanagy, helped Warriors extend its lead to 14-9 into the half, but the Quakers came out determined in the second half, taking its first lead of the game half way through the period at 17-16.
Two possessions later,
Sammi Beatty would hit a big three for West Branch giving the Warriors the lead back at 19-17. Salem managed to tie the game at 19, but it was all Warriors after that. West Branch scored the final four points in the third quarter on two free throws from
Audrey Eaton and a bucket by
Tallie Muniz to take a 23-19 lead into the fourth.
After Salem trimmed the lead to two at 23-21, Eaton again came up clutch with a three giving the Warriors a 26-21 lead at the four minute mark. With under a minute and half to go,
Ellie Tucker sealed the game for West Branch with two free throws giving the Warriors a 29-22 advantage. West Branch would tack on a few more in the final minute for the ten point margin of victory.
West Branch got contributions on both ends of the court by a number of players with eight different players scoring in the game. Eaton would lead the way with eight second half points while Muniz finished with seven. Kanagy scored five and Burton and Tucker had four apiece.

Mati Hawk, and Beatty were stalwarts offensively and defensively helping lead the Warriors to victory.
West Branch will have the weekend off before a non-conference matchup at Austintown Fitch next Wednesday.
